Cooking Instructions:
Just heat and serve.
Our products are fully finished…no need to add water. To thaw: Thaw under refrigeration only. We recommend thawing our pouches as it will expedite the heating process and protect product integrity. Place frozen pouch on a tray in the refrigerator and thaw overnight.
To heat: It is recommended that our boilable pouches be used to heat all products. Using insulated gloves, carefully submerge unopened thawed pouch in boiling water. Heat pouch to a minimum of 185°F to insure ideal finished product viscosity. Reaching finished temperature will vary depending upon initial state of the soup and the number of pouches being heated. Heating can also be accomplished in a double boiler. Do not heat in a microwave. Recommended serving temperature is 165°F.
All soups have a shelf life of 12 months frozen and 10 days refrigerated, unopened. Meritage Soups are fresh frozen in 1 gallon boilable bags.
